and EVEN more bad news from EQ3 (lengthy edition)
phone call after phone call resulted in getting some money credited back to my credit card. we always decided that a delivery person would come to my home today, THURS-motherfucking-DAY, to get the 2 pieces that were INCORRECT. I was then going to have the CORRECT piece dropped off at my house.
as I’m driving home from work today it occurred to me that the delivery people never called me to set up a time. I had spoke with the manager on several occasions this week about the fact that I would be contact when I got home from work, not a minute before.
i got home, the stuff that was supposed to be picked up is still here and I dont have the correct piece. i immediately call the store, EQ3, and ask for the manager. he’s not there. fair enough, he told me he would be off today and that the assistant manager would take care of everything, we double triple confirmed every damn aspect of this. the girl on the phone informs me that there is no one else there with the authority or intelligence (I added that part) to answer my questions. I then told her the situation and she explained that it is IMPOSSIBLE to have things delivered during the week. bad idea lady, you just lied. I told her how a delivery truck was supposed to be sent out to Ocean View and my home to pick up/drop off. she said, “oh yea, they left a lot earlier today, I guess you’re right”. I tell her that I really need to speak with someone who knows something, she informs me they are all incompetent. I told her to call the manager at home and to call me back.
skip to a few minutes later, my phone rings. I spoke with her and she said that the manager informed her to tell me that he will be in ALLLLLL day tomorrow and he will call me. He knows, and I know, that I will be out of town all weekend and won’t be around at all tomorrow. THIS WAS THE WHOLE REASON WE WERE TAKING CARE OF IT TODAY. I let her take a message stating that I would call him after the weekend and that they would make a special trip out to my home early next week to pickup/drop off the items.
if I didn’t like this furniture so much I would have never dealt with this much bullshit. I ordered the stuff 4/25/08 and HAVE YET TO RECEIVE EVERYTHING I ORDERED.
EQ3, you’ve been outed. While you have nice furniture, your delivery system sucks, your customer service is terrible, and you have employees that have no idea what they are doing. Not only will I never order another piece of furniture from your company, but I will tell every person I know to stay clear of your establishment. Had I know from the beginning the amount of stress this would entail, I would have never given you a cent of my hard-earned money.
I want to give them the benefit of the doubt, but when people make promises and never follow through (on several occasions), I can only take the appropriate actions as a consumer. I’m very much looking forward to going into the store on Monday to speak with management and get some monetary compensation for my time.
Now I’ll enjoy my weekend and be out of town so as not to worry about any of this.
